IT Manager III: Unseen Forces
New technology makes computers more productive, more energy efficient, more mobile, more secure, more manageable and more virtualized. Intelligent deployment of technologies is crucial to a successful game of IT Manager III: Unseen Forces. New types and levels of technology will be featured in IT Manager III: Unseen Forces, as and when these are developed.
Fleet Management technology enables all current support cases of the same type to be resolved simultaneously. It also enables security technology to be rolled out across the entire fleet at once. It is analogous to Intel® vPro™ and Intel® Centrino® with vPro™ technology.
In IT Manager III: Unseen Forces, the player scores points by solving problems, raising productivity, training in technologies and completing a variety of other challenges. When the score reaches certain milestones, players are promoted to a new rank. There are sixteen ranks in total.
There is no limit to the number of games a registered player can start. The highest score achieved by the player determines his position on the leader board.
IT Manager III: Unseen Forces rewards the player for resolving different kinds of IT support cases with different tools, for effective deployment of different technologies and for passing tests of IT knowledge. There are 18 awards in total.
The easiest reward to win is the Order of the Reboot. However, using the Reboot tool is a risky business. The effects of a successful reboot are immediate. However, there are times when switching a computer off and back on again makes matters worse, resulting in the problem taking more time to fix than it would have done had the player investigated it properly first.
The game rewards a player whose IT chi rises to the highest possible level (enlightenment). Each time the player achieves enlightenment he gains one random special object. Special objects are single-use super powers the player can apply to computers, individual employees, IT staff or the office itself. Players can collect them and use them as desired.
Special objects can do anything, from making employees more productive, instantly resolving IT support cases or boosting the capabilities of IT department staff, to providing miscellaneous bonuses. IT Manager III: Unseen Forces features 24 different special objects.
IT chi is a measurable phenomenon that manifests wherever IT and human beings come into contact. The IT chi level reflects how well the player balances the tactical elements of the game (keeping the computers running and the employees productive) with the strategic (training IT staff to cope with new technologies and deploying those technologies).
There are five IT chi levels. From lowest to highest they are Nadir, Declivity, Limbo, Awakening and Enlightenment. Events can make the IT chi rise or fall. Enlightenment earns the player a special power. Staying at the nadir too long results in a game-over-inducing nervous breakdown.
